OUR STORY
Ariana & Michelle have been working together since 2014. They began their journey at a health center practicing primarily medical massage. Over time they developed aspirations to improve the wellness of the community by integrating treatments for mind, body & soul. Today, they combine medical massage and acupuncture treatments with a holistic approach. They strive to bring healing to the source of the dysfunction, beyond just treating symptoms.

Acupuncture * Massage * Sound Therapy
Whenever someone asks me what my style of treatment is, I always say: “seek and destroy”.
While this usually gets a chuckle, it is simple yet accurate description of my philosophy in healthcare. Whether it be acupuncture, massage, or sound healing I am always seeking to treat the root cause of discomfort or disharmony in my patients. My goal is to help guide the body, mind & spirit back into balance where it can perform at its best.
My acupuncture style is rooted in Five Element Theory, which is derived from observation of energetic patterns in the natural world. Five Element treats each individual as a whole, unique person and strives to bring the body’s energy back into balance. When the body is in harmony, it creates the optimal environment for healing.
I give a strong and balanced massage, combining treatment work with luxurious relaxation techniques. I love working with clients to develop treatments to keep them participating in their favorite activities without pain. I aim to give each client a solid well-rounded massage while helping them reach their treatment goals.
Music and sound have always been a huge influence in my life, and I believe deeply in the Sanskrit expression “Nada Brahma” which translates to: The Universe is Sound. Since my Sound Healing training in Nepal in 2021, I have incorporated sounds and vibrations from various instruments into my treatments with remarkable results.

What Makes My Massage Unique: I believe that each massage is a collaboration between the client and the practitioner. I aim to work with the client to find the source of dysfunction that may be contributing to discomfort, rather than just treating the symptoms. I find it beneficial to use myofascial techniques to address constrictive connective tissue that may be inhibiting a full range of motion as well as neuromuscular techniques that engage the muscles to offer release. My massage could be described as slow and patient. I never force my way into the tissues and check in regularly with each client on depth and pressure. I have a strong interest in treatment work for clients with specific focus areas but also enjoy giving an awesome relaxation massage. But above all else, I am dedicated to creating a comforting atmosphere for each individual client.

Craniosacral * Intraoral * Lymphatic Drainage
I began practicing massage full time in 2013. I like to take a slow and gentle approach. Using my sensitive skills to listen to the body and work with its natural rhythms. I specialize in Craniosacral Therapy, Intraoral, and Lymphatic Drainage massage.
Craniosacral Therapy uses a series of deeply relaxing holds working with the central nervous system and surrounding structures, helping release tension patterns held in the body.
I previously worked in the dental field for 7 years. It was exciting to be able to bring my dental and massage knowledge together by receiving my Intraoral massage endorsement. Intraoral massage focuses on the muscles inside of the mouth and jaw. It can be very effective in relieving TMJ-D symptoms, headaches, migraines, teeth clenching and grinding.
Lymphatic Drainage is a light rhythmic massage that stimulates the lymphatic system to decrease edema and increase general wellness.
I look forward to working with you.

I have always moved through the world kinesthetically and loved puzzles. The road to becoming a LMT took the scenic route and is filled with decades in the hospitality industry, severe car accidents, head injuries, falls and recovering from all of them. These experiences fuel my desire to constantly become a better therapist. Each session aims to meet the body where it is, facilitate a resolution of tension and pain while increasing range of motion. The techniques used are usually non-invasive and effective for a variety of physical ailments including: autoimmune issues, nerve issues, stress and other medical complications.
I spend my time cooking, growing food and medicinal plants, sewing, tango dancing, hiking and throwing the perfect dinner gathering. More about myself and my 8 month road trip around the country in 2021 can be found at machenamano.com

SERVICES
MASSAGE
Relax with a delightful combination of Swedish, Myofascial Release, and Deep Tissue techniques. Flowing strokes help relax muscles and calm the nervous system, while techniques such as gentle squeezing, compression, and tapping target specific muscles. Massage is an effective treatment for chronic or acute injury and focuses on treating the root cause of pain and discomfort. The therapist will assess movement restrictions and pain levels and develop a care plan to alleviate and prevent reoccurrence of symptoms. Your therapist will incorporate relaxation and stress relief modalities to support the body's self healing systems. Must have current referral/prescription for massage therapy from your PCP to bill your insurance.

ACUPUNCTURE
The Five Element Theory of Acupuncture originated from observations of energetic patterns in the natural world. Ancient Chinese mapped cycles of energy and how they apply to human life. 'Elements' is also translated as Phases or Seasons. Each of the five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water represents a different phase. Through observation, the practitioner examines the health of each element determine which ones are functioning optimally and which ones are not. The goal for treatment is to balance the elements so that there is appropriate expression of each element and an easy, natural transition from one phase into the next.
A Five Element acupuncture treatment can often be different from other treatments you have experienced. The first session is between ninety minutes and two hours and includes and thorough intake covering health, family and personal history, examination, tongue and pulse diagnosis and treatment goal planning. Often instead of placing many needles in points over the body, leaving the needles in, and stepping out of the room. The practitioner will insert one needle stimulate a point, and quickly remove the needle, repeating for each point. Depending on the level of severity, the typical schedule of treatment is one to two times a week for 4-6 treatments, and then gradually increasing the time between treatments until a maintenance phase of once every 4 to 8 weeks. Acupuncture can be used to treat any ailment whether physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
ANANDA YOGA
Ananda Yoga is a Hatha based, meditative practice that infuses the asanas or poses with beautiful verbal affirmations. Through alignment of the spine, chakras become a pathway for energy to flow inward and upward to your Third Eye. Ananda Yoga will improve your physical balance by moving your body and creating stillness in your mind. Join Ariana for private lessons or in a group of up to 5; or add a one hour meditative session to your massage!

CUPPING
Massage Cupping is the combination of massage movements and negative pressure with the use of a suction device on the skin. A cup is positioned at the area to be treated and, depending on the type of cups being used; a vacuum is created within the cup to draw the skin and underlying tissue into the cup. The produced vacuum creates a suction effect that increases blood and lymphatic circulation systemically and to the local area, relaxes muscle tissue and support, draws stagnation & pathogenic factors out of the body and releases a myriad of pain causing factors.

GUA SHA
Gua sha is the practice of using a tool to apply pressure and scrape the skin to relieve pain and tension. This action causes light bruising, which often appears as purple or red spots known as petechiae or sha.
The name gua sha — pronounced gwahshah — comes from the Chinese word for scraping. Gua sha is most often used to relieve muscle and joint pain; and can also benefit the immune system and reduce inflammation. Gua sha is also used to treat a cold, fever, or problems with the lungs.

SOUND HEALING
Sound healing is an ancient meditative practice that uses different musical implements to create vibrations, bringing the patient into a deep meditative state. This deep mediation helps to facilitate both physical and mental healing. Our practitioners studied at the Himalayan Yoga Academy in Nepal; the birthplace of Sound Healing. We use authentic hand-hammered metal bowls tuned at strategic frequencies & offer a variety of treatments including:
-
Chakra Healing
-
Aura Cleansing
-
Energy Balancing
-
Awareness Activation
-
Ear & Sinus Therapy
-
Spinal & Lower Limb Massage
Patients can choose which therapy they would like to receive, or practitioners can evaluate and treat as needed. Sound Healing can be added to any Massage or Yoga treatment or booked as a stand-alone appointment.
CRANIOSACRAL
Craniosacral Therapy is a hands-on technique that uses gentle touch to release tension in the central nervous system. The focus of CST is to promote the movement of fluids in and around the central nervous system, focusing on the wave-like rhythmic pulse that goes through the entire body. The goal of craniosacral therapy is to help get rid of restrictions to improve the functioning of the central nervous system. CST can help with migraine headaches, chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma of any kind, post-surgical recovery, TMJ, and more.

INTRAORAL
Intra-oral massage is a safe and effective technique that includes massage to the neck, throat, shoulders, including facial muscles and the muscles of the jaw. The jaw work is done by working on the inside of the mouth. This work can be very helpful in relieving stress and tension around the temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) as well as the face and neck and even down into the shoulder girdle.
LYMPHATIC
DRAINAGE
Lymphatic drainage massage involves applying light pressure to the skin in a slow, stroking motion. By massaging the skin, lymph vessels are stimulated and encouraged to contract and move fluid from swollen areas to other parts of the body. Lymphatic Drainage is mainly used to reduce swelling and can also be used to improve your immune system, boost your energy levels, and reduce fatigue
